Otaki MP Nathan Guy has launched his re-election campaign for the Otaki electorate on Sunday with a large crowd of 200 people at the Te Horo Hall yesterday.
“It’s a huge privilege to be the local MP representing the people of Kapiti and Horowhenua, and something I never take for granted,” says Mr Guy.
“We have made incredible progress over the last few years with massive investment into our transport and roading infrastructure, and I want to keep this momentum moving forward.
“I’m proud to have the Kapiti Expressway finished, work well underway on Transmission Gully and about to start on the Peka Peka to Otaki expressway. As part of this I’ve successfully pushed for an interchange at Peka Peka and a cycleway through to Otaki.
“We also have a new replacement bridge for the Whirokino trestle underway, Ultra-Fast Broadband being rolled out across our region and increased social spending and services.
“Over the next three years I want to maximise the benefits of this new infrastructure and push for more local health services.
“It was great to have Deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett as a guest speaker and to kick-start my campaign.”
Mr Guy has been the MP for Otaki since 2008. In 2014 he won the seat with a majority of 7782. He is ranked number 12 on the National Party’s recently released list.
