I'm delighted that NZTA has announced they are now exploring a dedicated Peka Peka to Otaki cycleway.

They have been responsive to feedback from many locals who want a new cycleway to connect with the Mackays to Peka Peka section that has proved so popular since it opened last month.

Tourism is booming in New Zealand with international visitor spending reaching $10.1 billion last year.

Over 3.5 million visitors came to New Zealand in 2016 and visitor spending is up 4 per cent from the previous year. Tourism is now our biggest export earner and is hugely important to our economy and our region.

The Kapiti Expressway has been officially opened and I’m proud to have supported it right from the start. The community day was a huge success with around 20,000 people turning out.
