The announcement that the Horowhenua Expressway decision will be delayed comes as a huge disappointment, MP for Otaki Nathan Guy says.
“NZTA have said they need to re-evaluate due to the Coalition Governments new transport policy, which suggests they’re concerned they’re not going to get the required Government funding.
“There are concerned residents who still don’t know what is going to happen with their land, these people deserve route certainty so they can get on with their lives.
“Those affected were told they’d have confirmation by June, only to be now told it will be months before they get a verdict.
“I’m concerned that the Coalition Government has raided all the money for important regional roads like the Expressway, to instead use for their pricey Auckland transport plans.” Mr Guy says.
